iPhone 14 and 14 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S22 series, and Google Pixel 6 Pro are 5G-ready. Given their prices, you’d think so. Even if you can’t afford flagships, you can get faster downloads. Google Pixel 6A, Samsung, OnePlus, and Motorola make affordable 5G phones. 2022 iPhone SE supports 5G.
5G is the next mobile technology but won’t replace 4G. 5G boosts drones, autonomous cars, and IoT devices. Its growth in the US, UK, and elsewhere has been rapid, but it’s not everywhere yet. Before buying a 5G phone, make sure coverage is available or coming soon.
Buy the S22 Ultra 5G if you’re not in a 5G zone. It’s 4G-capable. (Slower) You may not be in a 5G zone now, but it may come to your area in the next three years.
Every major phone maker offers 5G phones, making selection difficult. We’ve listed our favourite 5G phones.
Apple iPhone 14 Pro/Max
Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max introduce the Dynamic Island in place of the old notch, a 48-megapixel camera, and the A16 Bionic processor. These improvements create a new, faster experience compared to previous generations.
If you want Apple’s top phone’s high performance and stellar camera quality, get the iPhone 14 Pro.
Google Pixel 6/Pro
The Pixel 6 Pro costs $899 and offers more value than competitors. It has premium cameras, AI features, a sharp display, and a unique design. If you have $600, get the Pixel 6 with flagship cameras and a large screen.
Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are coming soon. If you don’t need an upgrade soon, save your money to buy the new model or the 6 Pro at a discount.
S22 Ultra
The Galaxy S22 Ultra is Samsung’s best phone, packed with premium features. It has a large, vibrant screen and a unique zoom lens on the back camera. It’s powerful. This Android phone isn’t cheap, but it’s the best 5G handset available.
Pixel 6A
Google’s $449 Pixel 6A replaces the Pixel 5A. Same Tensor chip and features as the $599 Pixel 6.
Pixel 6 has a 6.1-inch 60Hz OLED screen. The Pixel 5A has a 12.2-megapixel main camera and 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Real Tone skin tone, Face Unblur, Night Sight for darker shooting, and Magic Eraser can be used with the Tensor chip.
iPhoneSE
iPhone SE is Apple’s cheapest 5G phone. It lacks the camera of the more expensive iPhone 13 Pro, but it runs iOS 15 and uses the same processor as the higher-end models, making it an excellent phone for everyday use and light gaming.
13 Mini iPhone
The iPhone 13 Mini is now $599 in Apple’s new iPhone 14 lineup. This phone is compact. Even small pant pockets can fit the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Mini. Despite its shorter battery life, this iPhone’s camera and computing power aren’t compromised.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 updates Samsung’s smaller folding phone with better specs. We haven’t reviewed the Z Flip 3, so we can’t say if it’s “best.” Wait until we buy it.
The Z Flip folds like the Galaxy Fold. When open, this Samsung Galaxy phone has a 6.7-inch display; when folded, it fits in pants or jacket pockets. A cheaper folding Samsung Galaxy phone with good specs and 5G.
Moto G 5G
Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) is one of the best stylus-equipped phones for $500. Android 12, 5G connectivity, and a 6.8-inch screen are included. The phone will only receive one software update and three years of security updates, compared to four years for the Galaxy A53.
OnePlus10Pro
Our review praised the OnePlus 10 Pro’s sleek design, powerful performance, and affordable price. This flagship could use some tweaks, especially to the camera, but it’s still great. This high-end 5G phone stands out from iPhones and Galaxy phones.
